Ingredients –
– 2 yeast cakes
– 1/2 c. warm water
– 5 c. flour
– 1 c. luke warm milk
– 1/2 lb. melted butter or oleo
– 1/2 c. sugar
– 1/2 t. salt
– 6 egg yolks
– grated lemon
Dissolve the yeast in 1/2 c. warm water and a tablespoon of sugar. Put in 2 cups flour in large bowl. Pour in milk and yeast mixture. Mix well when it rises in about 1 hours time, add 2 cups flour, beaten egg yolks, sugar. Knead well then add butter and the other flour and grated lemon.

Beat the whites of 3 eggs with one cup sugar. Add 2 cups ground English Walnuts and 1/2 can of evaporated milk.
Poppy Seed Filling (Grandma Olszewski) Contributed by Julia Sheahan.
Use one can of SOLO Poppy Seed Filling with 3 egg whites (beaten). Stir in a little honey. Spread on the dough and roll it.
