Cara Day and I made these when Mom first moved to Waterloo. They really taste like candy!
Ingredients –
– 1 package saltine crackers
– 1 cup margarine
– 1 cup brown sugar
– 1-12 oz package of chocolate chips
– 3/4 cup pecans, chopped
Preheat oven to 375 F. Use jelly-roll pan lined with buttered foil. Cover the bottom with crackers. Combine margarine and brown sugar in heavy sauce pan. Heat to boiling and boil 3 minutes. Stir constantly. Do not overcook. Poor over crackers completely. Bake in oven 5 minutes. Remove and sprinkle with chocolate chips. When melted, spread with a spatula, then top with pecans. Cool and break into pieces.
